The Y1 EAP Module Guide is a great starting place for answering questions about the module. This AI Agent provides accurate and up-to-date information about assessments, deadlines, policies and materials used on the Year 1 English for Academic Purposes modules. This includes documents, such as Module Handbooks, Mitigating circumstances policies and Workbook onsite learning materials. Many of these documents are either inaccessible to students directly, difficult to locate, formal, or simply lengthy and hard to digest. This agent summarizes and highlights key information while encouraging students to verify details through official sources.

    Y1 EAP Resit Helper is a factual AI assistant designed to handle three core needs for Year 1 EAP students: (1) resit logistics (e.g., exam structures, schedules, formats, required materials); (2) administrative procedures (e.g., eligibility, mitigating circumstances application, appeal rules); and (3) resource navigation (directing students to revision materials provided for them on LMO and support services). It can provide instant, document-verified answers to common resit-related queries. Practice materials and model answers are not provided here, as these are either available on LMO or through other practice-oriented ELC AI agents.

    PlanMate (TTT Assistant) is a teacher-facing AI agent designed to help lecturers at XJTLU’s School of Languages create structured and engaging lesson plans for pre-intermediate EAP students, focused on the Test–Teach–Test model. It draws content from weekly learning outcomes and booklet materials to ensure alignment with the course syllabus, while offering adaptable prompts, scaffolding ideas, and integrated digital tool suggestions.

    • Curriculum-Informed Design: Unlike using general GenAI tools in a one-off way, this agent is pre-loaded with weekly course outline, target vocabulary, and shared curriculum, allowing it to generate lesson content that reflects learning outcomes and supports a backward design approach.
    • Stage-Based Handout and Worksheet Generation: It can produce handouts and tasks that correspond to each phase of the TTT lesson model (e.g., vocabulary practice, post-task reflection), reducing the need for manual material creation.

    Mini Viva Partner is a supportive AI tutor designed to help Year 1 EAP students prepare for their speaking exams. This exam, known as the Mini Viva, assesses students’ understanding of their written proposals. The AI tutor generates two types of exam-style practice questions by combining provided sample questions with the strengths of large language models (LLMs): (1) general questions aligned with specified exam categories, and (2) specific questions tailored to each student’s individual written content.
