This AI Agent provides accurate and up-to-date information about assessments, deadlines, policies and materials used on the Year 1 English for Academic Purposes modules. This includes documents, such as Module Handbooks, Mitigating circumstances policies and Workbook onsite learning materials. Many of these documents are either inaccessible to students directly, difficult to locate, formal, or simply lengthy and hard to digest. This agent summarizes and highlights key information while encouraging students to verify details through official sources.

Y1 EAP Resit Helper is a factual AI assistant designed to handle three core needs for Year 1 EAP students: (1) resit logistics (e.g., exam structures, schedules, formats, required materials); (2) administrative procedures (e.g., eligibility, mitigating circumstances application, appeal rules); and (3) resource navigation (directing students to revision materials provided for them on LMO and support services). It can provide instant, document-verified answers to common resit-related queries. Practice materials and model answers are not provided here, as these are either available on LMO or through other practice-oriented ELC AI agents.

PlanMate (TTT Assistant) is a teacher-facing AI agent designed to help lecturers at XJTLU’s School of Languages create structured and engaging lesson plans for pre-intermediate EAP students, focused on the Test–Teach–Test model. It draws content from weekly learning outcomes and booklet materials to ensure alignment with the course syllabus, while offering adaptable prompts, scaffolding ideas, and integrated digital tool suggestions.

Suggestion for users

• Users are encouraged to include the teaching dates in their prompt to ensure more accurate content retrieval.
• Always review and adapt the outputs, especially handouts, to ensure they suit your class context and learning objectives.
• Treat the agent as a planning assistant rather than a source of final materials. Use it to structure your ideas and streamline planning time.

The XJTLU Harvard Cite&Ref Pro is an AI Agent designed to assist Year One students in mastering citation and referencing practices according to the XJTLU-specific Harvard referencing style. It is particularly designed for EAP learners who are developing academic writing skills for the first time. This AI Agent explains citation rules with examples, detects and corrects errors, and promotes both integrated and non-integrated citation styles. By offering targeted guidance consistent with institutional requirements, it enhances students’ understanding of citation conventions and promotes academic integrity in writing.

Additional information

To support students, especially those with limited AI literacy, this AI Agent includes four pre-set starter questions:

• How can I cite an article written by four authors?
• How can I write a reference for a journal article?
• How can I write a reference for a webpage article?
• How do I arrange references alphabetically?

These are designed to scaffold student use and help them ask effective follow-up questions, regardless of their prior experience with AI tools.

Mini Viva Partner is a supportive AI tutor designed to help Year 1 EAP students prepare for their speaking exams. This exam, known as the Mini Viva, assesses students’ understanding of their written proposals. The AI tutor generates two types of exam-style practice questions by combining provided sample questions with the strengths of large language models (LLMs): (1) general questions aligned with specified exam categories, and (2) specific questions tailored to each student’s individual written content.

Suggestion for users

• Share one paragraph from the written proposal at a time to enable the AI tutor to generate specific, tailored questions
• Respond proactively to the practice questions to receive constructive feedback
• Use the agent alongside other GenAI tools that support voice interaction, such as Doubao
